Hello All

One of our divisions have been using NX to create 2D schematics of hydraulic circuits. However, they have been sketching directly onto the drafting sheet and now they want to copy parts of sketches from one part to another and NX won't have any of it. Is there any way to:-

a) Move an entire sketch from the drafting sheet into the modelling application?

b) any easier way of copying parts of a sketch (hydrauluic symbols) that are done in modelling to another part without having to go through the whole project-simplify-copy-paste-add existing curves route.

Best regards

Simon (NX4.0.4.2 MP4 - TCEng 9.1.3.6.c)

You could try doing a File -> Export and selecting the sketch object itself and then do a File -> Import, but at the moment it appears that only the curves and the geometric constraints are transferred into the final model. However, the dimensional constraints are not included.
