Hey all,

I have a little problem with solving the moving mass problem in Abaqus.

I defined a 2D-beam with a wire in Abaqus. On that beam I want to move a mass to influence the eigenfrequencies/vibrations of the beam. So far I have only done static analysis with Abaqus.

I am using a point mass (property -> special-> interia -> create) on to a defined point on the beam.

Is it anyhow possible to move the point/mass on the beam with a pre-described motion?

Thanks for helping me!

I hope you are not trying to have this movement within one frequency extraction step...

The velocity is of the mass on the beam is not set yet. We actually want see what the influence will depending on the velocity.
