My company is considering purchasing MS Project. Our projects are primarily service related, not materials related. Question: If I want to change a particular output parameter (i.e., output moves from review of 500 lines of data/day to 650/day), will MS Project recalculate the entire project time plan for me? If not, can you recommend a Project Management software program that will? Thank you. (I am not an engineer, by any stretch of the imagination! Just someone that needs technical assistance.)

I expect that MS Project should recalculate / or reschedule the project once the work rate has been defined.
An open source alternative you may want to consider is the open Workbench which will do almost everything MS project will do. It can be downloaded free at You can download and evaluate to see the features.
Hope this helps.
