MSC Adams Assembly Advice/Question

Hello eng-tips,

I would like to make tricycle parametric model in the MSC Adams View environment. I am planning to model left and front suspension and trying to make mirror the left hand side suspension for creating the right one. Also I would like to model front suspension independently. At the end of the modelling I would like to assemble all of them to the one master model with all connectors, markers and geometries. The main reason behind this idea to keep main model updated while each independent suspension system refined.

Is it possible to make this kind of things in Adams View, like CAD software? Do you have any advice about it.

Since it is parametric, even if ADAMS/View doesn't understand mirroring ( I don't know) then you can handle the mirroring in the parametric equations.

That aside I am wondering why you aren't using /Car, which is set up to do much of the heavy lifting.

I am trying to make something experimental geometries that's why I am not using the Adams/Car.

Ok, I've made a parametric relations and mirroring. Can I make it for independent subsystem and import together to make it assembled, because one way or another front and left/right suspension assemblies are different and I would like to improve their features independently and finally I would like to see whole car effects after I assemble together.
 
Sorry, I don't know if View supports subassemblies. I'd have thought it was just a case of importing the second model and then linking them with a rigid joint.

There is, of course, a very, very, very inconvenient option. Create one bin-file, and in it several models (by opening the F3 window and writing, for example, model create model = Model_front, etc.). In each of them import the left/right piece or completely the geometry, place the connections.

The only plus of this method is that in the future, you can avoid the conflict of Adams identifiers. And so after editing each model separately, it will be possible to combine them into a kind of separate model (Tools - Merge Two Models). Alas, the joints of the frame and suspension will not be automatically updated when importing modified models. They will need to be reassigned (if this is a new model), or even previously deleted old ones (if already edited). If you have time and desire, you can experiment...
