Hello everyone.

I have an assignment for my classes to build a mechanism. As part of that mechanism i have to use GeneralConstraint joint between two elements. This GeneralConstraint (GCN) has to do the same function as translational joint between these two bodies. My question to you is which function from Function Builder i have to use to get the wanted result.
For instance i tried DX(Marker1) function, but i only get my mechanism in its end position without movement during work cycle. So i would like to have a GCN that does the same thing as a translational joint (but i have to use GCN).

So based on the photo: The green triangle rotates around its corner, and i want i translation movement in horizontal direction between green triangle and brown board (the board has to move up because of the movement of triangle).

It's called a GCON and then read the help on that to figure out how to suppress all but one degree of freedom. Incidentally in 17 years of ADAMS I have never used a GCON knowingly.

GCON/111, I=2, FUNC=DX(2,3)
GCON/112, I=2, FUNC=DY(2,3)

suppresses two translations, if you just want motion in the Z axis, all you need to do is suppress rotation as well. Read the Help.
