Hello I'm trying to create an analysis of a wall being hit by waves. My plan is to make this wall and throw lots of force on it by water. I created the walls in solidworks with their materials characteristics and assembled the rebar and wall together and then ported them to patran by IGES files. But I don't know if Patran would recognize the support of the rebar when I transfer these wall files from Solidworks. Would I make a finite mesh for both the wall and the rebar? I'm very new to Patran so please be descriptive as I am trying to learn Patran at the moment. Thank You!!

I am not a Patran user, but I would suggest you don't model the concrete and reinforcement separately unless you have a really good reason why you need to. Just model the concrete, and adjust the flexural stiffness to allow for cracking if appropriate and necessary.

Hi
I am not a Patran user either. But I am curious, what is the reason for modelling and analyzing a wall hit by waves in that manner?
