I am using MSEW software developed by Aadma. I have a question how do i model gravity modular retaining wall. I am able to analyze reinforced walls with different geomertic conditions like terraced, point load, building loads etc. However, i am not able to analyze Simple gravity retaining walls.

Thanks in advance for all your suggestions.

jaggars,

MSEW, as far as I know, was developed to analyze MSE walls and reinforced slopes only. You will need to find a general limit equilibrium analysis tool to analyze a gravity wall.

One possiblity is Slope/W (

What type of material is the modular gravity wall made of?
Depending upon the material you are using, there may be software available from the manufacturer. You must be careful though using this option - a manufacturer's software is usually only valid for their materials.

quite often, the materials assumed in designs around here typically don't even exist on the site or can even be considered "typical" for the area around here...that usually doesn't stop the designs from becoming reality as far as i can tell (it's just an increase in the project document's questionable language in an attempt to dump the liability on to the owner or someone else).--that's just my critical perspective for what it's worth
