1) MSHA Part 7 includes engines qualified to Tier IIII but does it also include engines qualified to Tier III?

2) Can someone please direct me to: an Approved ONLY list?

Note: Question 2 is at the bottom of the attached Word document. If you read the attachment, you will see why I am asking question 2.

3) If I post an attachment, then attempt a second attachment within the same post, the second one overwrites the first one.
Are we limited one attachment per post?

I have asked Q3 at tips/Contact Us several days ago but no response as yet. Maybe I am too impatient because surely they have many requests.

Question ANSWERED

There is no Approved only list.

I contacted the MSHA author of:

Selection of Diesel Engines for Underground Mining and he walked me through the process of how to determine which models are approved and to what level compliance etc.

It is a bit tricky as one might expect of a government document but this gentleman totally changed my attitude about govenment employees especially because of the fact that MSHA is the OSHA of mining.

If you need this type of info, you can go to:

Selection of Diesel Engines for Underground Mining
then to Product Listings PART 7 Diesel Engines (Permissible and Non-Permissible).

This will bring up an eleven page list of engines and at the uper left edge of the table find, "export this list to excel" so that you can sort by whatever.
