hello,
first post. i've been asked to investigate the generally accepted range of values of MSR using a cement treated subgrade, with 7% and 12 inches deep. we can assume soft subgrade below the CTB. any help would be appreciated.

thanks,
scott

I would suggest doing a plate load test on this combination, assuming your unconfined compressive strength is relatively low.

If the unconfined compressive strength of the CTB is over about 250 psi, shear and bending should control the design parameters, not the modulus value.

What are you designing? Why are you using a modulus of subgrade reaction approach?

Please do a search of this site using the key words "modulus subgrade reaction" - you should find quite a lot of information since many others have posted questions regarding this subject.
