Hello all,
I am creating a simulation program to model the suspension of a racing vehicle. The front suspension is a common double wishbone without a sway bar, but the rear suspension is unique to this form of racing only. Therefore, readily available programs cannot model the suspension system I need. I have created an Excel based tool that solves the static system. For the dynamic response of the system I was looking for a multi-body dynamics software that I could import the suspension dimensions and joint information into in order to analyze the dynamic response of the system. I just need a software to help model the motion of the suspension links given a set of input forces and accelerations. I don't need the program to have a tire model or account for any compliances. Also, the program does not need to have a graphical or CAD interface. I just need to import the vehicle parameters and a set of loads/accels, and have the program output a list of results.
I have seen a number of free multi-body dynamics codes/software that may be capable of accomplishing my task, but I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations or advice. I would also be willing to purchase a software package if it was capable of accomplishing my tasks and wasn't ungodly expensive.
Thanks,
Dustin
