Multi Depth Flap (Wing)

I have a contoured flap which needs variable depths at various section. I have the main surface. I tried skecthing the milled surfaces at plane normal to this surface, projected it on that surface. Tried using split, but gave me an error.
Is there any easy way???

Why bother projecting a curve, when you have a plane to use for your split?
