Hi all. I'm looking to change some load cell displays from Vishay (IP20) to Omega (IP65) but can't get a straight answer from Omega regarding the appropriate connection method. In the application, there are currently 3 (4-wire) load cells drawing their exitation from the display unit and their outputs are connected in parallel to the two input terminals of the display. Omega are telling me to series them for use with their instrument so as to "see" a voltage and not a current. Something doesn't add up (no pun intended). Is parallel not the universal way? Are all load cell instruments not the same at the input stage? (remote amplification notwithstanding).

Load cells are a voltage output device, not current. However you need to take a look at the input required by the Omega unit.
