Multi-wythe masonry mass wall detailing

Is there any resources out there that can help me detail and calculate loads on an old unreinforced masonry mass wall?

I've got Masonry Structural Design by Klinger, and I'm thinking about spending $100 on Masonry and Steel Detailing Handbook by Laska. These are pretty helpful. I've got an old "Connections between Steel and Other Materials" SCI publication 102 too that I'm browsing though.

I've got 3 wythes of brick creating a 30' mass wall with a mid span connection to floor joists. The joists are no longer bearing on much of the brick so I'd like to create a stronger connection there. I'm thinking about embedding a continuous steel channel, at the suggestion of a masonry restoration contractor. I just want to see if I can find a similar detail anywhere that explains exactly what type of connection it should have and any associated calculations.

Really it would just be floor joist bearing on the steel then the steel bearing on the outside wythe of wall, but there's got to be some type of requirement to embed headed anchors or something to keep that steel in place. I'd also like to rely on this connection to restrain the wall at the mid span against high wind loads we have in this area. Maybe that means we need a thru-bolt and plate on the outside of the wall. There's a parge coat out there that is getting repaired as well so now is the time.

Please let me know if there's any other information that would be helpful, the floor span supported by the exterior multi-wythe masonry wall is 10'. Use is just residential, so the load I'm transferring is only 400#/lf. There are nominal 2"x10" joists @16" O.C. that I want to connect to my new steel too, but that connection seems pretty strait forward.

I'm gonna attach a picture don't get too concerned it's unoccupied now and all the old walls and floor finishes have been removed. [bigglasses]
