Hi,

I'm looking at Multilin feeder protection relays...

I just don't get why the 735 is 3 times the price of the MIF II, and they both have the same function.

I will probably buy the MIF II -> three times cheaper!!

Did I miss something or is it just that the MIF II is a new model and that's the reason why it is cheaper.

Thanks

JL

Hi Jluc.
I'm not familar with GE relays, but I think you have answer in your Q.
735 it's old type of microprocessor relay and MIF II it's new digital relay. This is one reason of different price, in all mnf. new digital is cheaper then old one.
Next reason, maybe 735 upgreded to other new one digital (for example 750) and GE prefer keep high price for old type of relay.
Next reason. other mnf. I think 735 is Canadien relay and MIF II from Spain.
Try ask GE salesman.
Regards.

My impression is the 735 is a utility grade device and MIF II is more of an industrial grade relay. We've used 735's for years, but haven't tried the MIF II yet.
