Multiple Configurations of the Same Part

Is it possible to have different configurations of the same part in Catia? I have searched this and found other postings but I couldn't find any that fit what I am talking about. I have a pop rivet that I need to model complete in order for the views to show it correctly on the print. However, when I place it in my assembly model I need it to be shorter with the tip broken off like a pop rivet looks after it has been installed. I come from twenty years of Pro/E and this would have taken about five minutes to do there but I cannot figure out how to do this in Catia. That is not meant to be a shot at Catia and I DO NOT want to start a flame war about Catia vs. CAD-system-of-your-choice it was just a statement to maybe indicate how frustrating this is becoming for me. Thanks in advance for any help.

So I do have to create two separate models for the rivet? Catia will not let you create different "states" or "representations" of a part within the model? With both models and corresponding prints under revision document control and tracked through engineering releases it's kind of difficult to make two separate .CatPart models and have the system see and treat them both as the same thing. Thanks for the response!
