Per AISC Design guide, multiple rectangular opening spacing (clear spacing) must be greater than or equal to the height of the opening. Then in addition to that, clear spacing in composite beams must be greater than 2 x beam depth. This seems excessive for a 24" or 30" beam with multiple small openings which then must be spaced 4' or 5' apart. Calculations work but does not meet this criteria. Any suggestions or clarifications. Reference AISC design guide 2, chapter 3, equations 3-37a through 3-39b.

Might want to take a look at design guide 31 for castellated and cellular beams to see any additional checks to run on the web in between the holes.
