Regular pendent sprinkler/ non moving deflector

Installed with drop in ceiling.

How far below drop ceiling does the deflector have to be??

I thinking install per manufacture?

NFPA 13 sections would help if any

Recommended for you

For unobstructed construction pendent deflectors must be 1-12" below finished ceilings unless listed otherwise. Some are listed to be a fraction of an inch below finished ceiling. 10.2.6.1.

Thanks,

Not sure why the question has not come up before, in my mind.

Just happen to be at a retro drop ceiling install, and the question came up.

Update

For this job it is using about 25 year old Reliable Rasco G1 concealed sprinkler.

Deflector does not move.

Reliable said if the concealed cover goes on,,, the sprinkler deflector is in the proper position.
