Does anyone use negative sequence overcurrent elements to provide instantaneous protection on transmission lines with a lot of mutual coupling? If I did something like this, the negative sequence instantaneous elements would be undereaching and maybe supervised with a some low ground pick up to avoid having to coordinate with any phase distance protection or customer faults. Am I wrong in thinking if you did something like this you could set the negative sequence elements instantaneous reach to cover more of the line than the ground elements due to not being effected by mutual coupling?
