Hello,
We are in the uk and there is a proposal for a new switchroom to contain both 11kv and 415v switchgear. Are there any standards that say these should be in separate rooms or separated with a barrier of some kind as I understand that you do not want non mv qualified staff being able to access the mv switchgear.

Thank you

I have the following opinion for your consideration
1. In UK, refer BS7671 on LV and other standards on MV.
2. In general, LV and MV are allowed to be in the same switch room. The MV board should be separated with a barrier of some kind and lockable; accessible to authorized person only. The switch room should be lockable to the general public.

If you can't erect some form of fence or barrier then really the whole switchroom should fall under HV rules. Access by HV authorized people using a controlled key.
