I need to calculate current carrying capacity for 20 kV cables, cables are laid in concrete trenches with traffic rated tile covers, it is not sealed and does allow some air circulation but not fully ventilated, just sun protected mostly.
The approach as I remember is to calculate the temperature rise inside the trench due to cable losses and sun exposure (not straight forward) and get the corresponding temperature derating factor accordingly.
Do you guys have similar experiences or useful reference to go with?
