Hi eng-tips forum!

I have been requested to supply an MV MCC for the Chilean market according to ANSI standards, specifically complying with NEMA ICS 3. The customer is also requesting for a dedicated CPT on each starter, but I think this is not a requirement from the NEMA standard. Does anyone know if this is a custom or standard request?

Best regards,

Gabriel

The standard does not dictate how you derive your control power but a CPT in each starter is very common for the purpose of reliability. But if the customer requires or wants that, why are you wanting to fight it? The difference in cost is minimal compared to having a "foreign source" entering each starter and running through a door interlock and fusing.
