We have a 2300 V, 60 Hz, 1250 HP, synchronous motor, working in a 50 Hz system. Is it possible to use an inverter to take it to 60 Hz? What possible MV inverter manufacturers do you suggest?

Hello jdaher,

There are a number of MV drive manuafcturers and/or suppliers you could try. As outlined by Alex68 Robicon are one. Others include;

Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley, ASEA, Siemens & Toshiba.

You would probably find one or 2 others by doing a search for "MV Drives" on

PS: Alex68, have Robicon come out of chapter 11 yet?

GGOSS,
Yes, Robicon has come out of Chapter 11 (for those in other countries, a form of US court controlled bankruptcy proceedings where debtors are told to hold off until the court can sort everything out). We are a debtor of theirs and it was all explained very satisfactorily, we have been fully paid, and in fact they never were actually late. It was all about shuffling paperwork to clear the way for HVE, their parent corporation, to renegotiate their debt structure brought on by the purchase of ASI/Cegelec/Ross Hill and to make up for other non-profitable segments of their (HVE's) structure. Robicon was apparently the only segment making money.
