Good Afternoon All,

I'm seeking some help on how to approach an irregular design that was designed by a "creative" Architect. I need to model a Two-Story Building with an open (3) Multi-gabled open roof structure. I need to find the MWFRS & C&C for this scenario. Typically I use Mecawind and/or use the calculations from ASCE 7-22 but I've never encountered this design before. I would appreciate any suggestions or guidance.

Treat each story differently, the bottom enclosed building (internal coefficient ±0.18) and the top story as an open building with (internal coefficient =0), see Figure 28.3-3 in ASCE 7-22. The second floor seems to me a concrete slab? so rigid diaphragm, consider torsion. The roof seems to be wood? so flexible diaphragm and load can be distributed based on tributary area alone. It takes time to separate wind in each direction and apply it for MWFRS. C&C is easier since it is component based and wind loads need not to be applied simultaneously.

Thank you for your response! Yes, you are correct regarding the diaphragms. I will work out these pressures accordingly.
