My turn for SW crashing

I've been running SW05 for 4 months without a hitch. Yesterday it started crashing.

Details:
OS: XP pro service pack 2
Video card: Nvidia GeForce FX5700LE

Was running SW SP 0.0
This morning downloaded SW SP 0.1

I've been trying to get some drawings out the door. Talking to SW tech support, they thought the size of the drawing files could be a problem( one was 7 C-size sheets ). I split the big drawing files into smaller ones, one sheet per file. Still crashed. I've remade the drawings still a problem. Downloaded SP 0.1, no help. Only two things I know is to upgrade my video card or to try and clean up my registry. Any other suggestions.

Your card isn't listed by SW as being certified or even tested.

However as you have been running SW05 for several months, check to see if the graphics driver has been updated recently via "Windows update". If it has try doing a rollback to an earlier driver. You could also try a "System restore" to a time before you started having a problem.

What are your other system specs (CPU, RAM, etc)?
How big (MB) are the assy models & drawing files?
What is your Virtual Memory set at?

[cheers] & all the best.

Can you open the files on another computer? Do the drawings crash during opening for do they open fine and only crash after being worked on? Have you tried to open the component models first and then the drawings?

Talking to tech support, my video card used to be supported and tested, they have updated their list and no longer include it.

My drafting CPU doesn't get to play on the internet, so no windows updates.

System specs
dual AMD Opteron 242 1.59GHz
2 GB of Ram

file size: part 3MB, drawing 3MB
Virtual memory: 2GB

I only have on computer running solidworks, I'm sending the files to tech support, they should be able to tell me if the problem is with a corrupt file.

All drawing open fine. The seem to crash when dimensioning, zooming in of out, or saving.

Crashes occur both with and without the solidmodel open first.

Thanks for the tip SBaugh, however no luck.

So toggling the Software OpenGL didn't help and you continued to crash?

But none the less you card isn't supported, and is most likely the problem point that you are seeing.

Did you clean your TEMP's out? See FAQ if you don't know how.

I cleaned my temps out, no luck there. We're looking to get a new video card to see if that fixes anything. Any suggestions on getting up and running before that.
