could someone please tell me or direct me to information that states (and is up to date) on the materials that NACE approves. The main one i am pondering about is C1045, i have heard through the grape vine that some or all C1045 is NACE approved. Is this true or am i an idiot for listening.

The main NACE criteria which I believe you won't be able to achieve is the hardness of the weld, restricted to 250 HV after stress relieving (refer to NACE MR0175, Clause A.2.1.4 Welding). Also, the sulphur content should not exceed 0.003 - 0.01%, in accordance with Part 2, Clause 8.
You are not an idiot, because you investigate the information you receive and filtrate it. Also, only a smart one can learn from an idiot, but not the idiot who already knows everything.
