In the scope of NACE MR0175 Table 1 Nace gives an exemption for "Crude Oil Storage and Handling Facilities operating at a total absoltue pressure below .45MPa (65 psi)
I am working on a SAGD facility which consits of Oil Treating, Water Treatment and Storage.
The vapour lines / Blanket Gas lines coming off the Slop Oil, Produced Water and several other storage tanks have an H2S partial pressure of .31 kpa. Just over the limit of being considered sour. These lines are aproxamately atmospheric with a operating pressure of 1 psig. In the older versions of Nace (pre 2003) low pressure sour gas lines were considered sweet. I am looking for opinions on whether or not these lines be exempted from NACE requriements based on the Crude Oil Storgae and Handling facilities exemption.
