Hi,
I woul like to qualify a martensitic stainless steel which isn't listed in MR0175-part 3. I have a question to users of the NACE MR0175 norm.
Because that kind of material is considered as corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA), I am not sure of the right thing to do.
First, CRA are described on MR0175-3, and the only description to qualify these materials is given on annex B (by using Annex E and TM0177). That annex explains how to qualify it by laboratory service.
Moreover, paragraph 8.2 from MR0175-1 gives requirements for a qualification based upon field experience. Contrary to MR0175 - part 3 which is specific to CRA, part 1 deals with materials in general for H2S environment.
Do I really have to use MR0175 part 3 ? Or is it possible to follow simply MR0175 part 1 requirements ?
