Could anyone tell me what a square around the NW (upper right) digits of the fastener quadrant indicates ?

Cheers

Sorry, NW (upper left)quadrant.

Dunny,

I just read through the standard, and saw nothing regarding a square in the upper left (northwest) quad. I have seen (on occasion) a square in the upper right (northeast) quad to separate the -(dash) no (dia) from the mfr head location. The only literature (not the standard - fr another book) I found regarding this practice is that the square is to represend an "installation" fastener.

Boeing uses the box in the NW quadrant to indicate a fluid tight installation. I'm not sure if that's standard throughout the industry or not.
