Good Morning,

I'm researching what I thought would lead to a quick answer but have come across something confusing. It looks like NAS1801-3-8 and NAS1801-3-08 may be the same part but they have different NSN's. The -8 is 5305-01-089-1520 and the -08 NSN is 5305-01-579-0208. If they are the same part, why do the have different NSN's? Is one considered a sub for the other? I have no doubt I'm missing something so please enlighten me when there is time. Thank you.

NAS1801-3 is 3/16" UNJF-3A hex-head screw

from NAS ... "second dash number is length in 1/16" increments" ... so -8 and -08 would mean the same, no?

I don't know "NSN" numbers ... but I wouldn't be surprised if someone entered "-8" and someone else "-08" for a 1/2" screw, and two idents were created for the same thing.

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

daxmann... simple...

The NAS1801-8-08 was stocklisted twice, inadvertently.

The NSN -1520 shows a unit price $12.44 ... so it is probably available.

The NSN -0208 shows a unit price "NA"... so it is probably not-available [no stock actually purchased, or all stock has been depleted/not-reordered].

Thanks for the information rb1957 and wktaylor. I'll have the SM people order the -8. Thanks again.
