I am currently using a SOL103 with the following lines in the main program below.
The program does not work. I have an error message (.log in attachment) and I do not understand what is wrong.

If you can help me ...

Sincerely yours,

Evangéline Capiez-Lernout

Please post *.f06 file it contain error messages. Log files do not contain any information useful for troubleshooting.

If I am reading the log file correctly, your Linux system has about 1.5Tb of memory installed. Your command line did not request an amount of memory, so I will assume that mem=max is defined in the rc file located at /usr/local/meca/MSC/2021/nastran/conf/nast20213rc, which in turn means the default allocation of memory will be a half the installed memory, and this fits with the message Requested size = 811640815656 bytes – this is about 0.5*1.5Tb. That’s a lot of memory, but maybe it’s a large model. Can you give an idea of the size of the model (number of GRID points or DOF)?
If you get the message “Unable to allocate Open Core” like you did, it means one of 2 things. Either there is hardware problem with the memory in your computer (unlikely) or it was running one or more processes which together were consuming more than half the installed RAM. Use the “top” command to see which processes are resident and how much memory is currently allocated to these processes. If there appears to be enough memory available, and the problem persists, you can either try allocating less memory for the job with mem= on the command line, or if all else fails, reboot the computer to kill off any zombie’d processes.
I also see you using many INIT and ASSIGN statements in the input file – is there a reason for this? You might be better off removing them and using the default allocations for scratch files.
