What type of paint or insulation to the pipe that we shall apply. Carbon steel pipe, sch. 40. In underground we have channel to pass the NGP.

Thanks

The paint is intended to prevent the corrosion process of the carbon steel pipe due to the environment is crossing. You need to disclose a lot more of your secret gas pipe if you expect a meaningful answer. Is the pipe burried in the ground and emerges in some short channels? Is the pipe always running in a channel? Is the channel wet or dry? Insulation for temperature? Hot? Cold? Is the galvanic corrosion an issue?

For sure it won't be paint you will need. There is an entire industry dedicated to making and applying coatings to underground piping. Start by googling, or calling up the natural gas distributor in your area.

tapecoat or poly/epoxy coating would be better for ug. Why insulate a gas pipeline?

. . and by the way, the ANSI color-code for Natural Gas is yellow. just say'in

NGP is likely natural gas product (liquid condensates such as ethane and higher extracted from the gas).

Duwe6,
I would prefer jte's purple to yellow....but then a nice shade of green could blend in better with the surroundings if it's outside...

UPC, uniform plumbing Code has information on materials and procedures
to install NG Piping.
If transmission lines other Codes apply.
