Hi Everyone,
I'm new here.
Glad to know Engineers have this platform to share our tips and thought.

Currently we are making NBR Sponge seal for our customer.
The NBR sponge made from extrusion then cut into specific length.
However we have problem during joint process.
We try to use the super glue 502. It joint well but the joint portion are harden.
We want to try adhesive that can joint and doesn't hard after dry.
This was to keep the sponge properties remain at all side.

Any ideas type of adhesive suitable for the NBR sponge? Glad if could help.

Regards

3M 1300 stays flexible after hardening and is formulated for NBR.

Edit:
Did I say 1300? While it will work for adhering nitrile, Scotch-Grip 847 is specifically formulated for nitrile rubber.

Use a rubber cement that is designed for NBR. Rubber cement is a contact adhesive. That means it is rubber dissolved in a solvent, which gets applied to both surfaces and is allowed to dry for a few minutes. Then the surfaces are pressed together and a strong bond is formed almost instantly. Super Glue is cyanoacrylate, which becomes a hard plastic when cured.

Well I did try to find this 3M 1300, a bit hard to find in my area.
Will try to search the scotch grip 847 instead.

The rubber cement thing, is this the same rubber cement to repair Tyre tube if leaking?

Not all tyre tubes are made of butyl rubbers these days. In fact, the majority are made from EPDM-based compounds because they're lower cost.
