NDT applicable for tube to tubesheet weld joints

What is the industry-accepted NDT for a finished strength welded tube to tubesheet weld joint?

Industry-accepted really refers to user or engineering firm nondestructive testing criteria. Either wet fluorescent MT or Liquid Penetrant test methods, depending on base materials and weld metal
 
is this for inservice or fab shop?

fab shop could use vacuum testing.
 
We applied RT to tube to tube sheet weld metal.
the position of RT source is tube inside and
film specially manufacted is locatited in tube edge.

 
The most strigent requirements that I have seen has specifed Helium Mass Spectrometry Leak Testing of Tube to Tubesheet welds.

The least strigent requireed an Bubble Test.

Though MT & Liquid Penetrant is widely used.

You can use a lot of methods.
It´s necessary to know some details, like:
- Use: requeriments are different depending of the use. Power plant pipng has higer requeriments that water-treatment plant (pressures, tempratures......)
- kind of joint: For groove welds you only can aplly RT and UT testing (volumetrics). If don´t need a complete penetration, you can use MT or PT (surface).
- Material: In non ferrous material (aluminium or PE))you can not carry out MT testing. I imagine tube is manufactured in steel (maybe ASTM A-106)
- Thickness: With 0,32 inch. or less you can not use UT testing.
- Leak testing is indicated to asure watertightness

If that tube hasn´t high requeriments, PT is the best.
