Hello again gentlemen. I am sizing our low voltage power cables in which we are intending to use 3 core XLPE/PVC power cables. I prefer to use the NEC 2005 since we do not have any information which cable manufacturer we are going to purchase these power cables since this is a proposal project.
Well, in the NEC, for 600VAC 3 core power cables directly buried underground, is it applicable for me to use the NEC table B.310.8 for 8AWG and above and NEC Table 310.16 for sizes below 8AWG?
Where I have single core XLPE/PVC power cables in air, can I use NEC Table B.310.1? I will use 75 Deg table to be conservative since almost all MCCB terminal ratings are rated 75 Deg.
I raise this question since there is no listed XLPE/PVC cable in the tables and I am wondering if this may be applicable. Furthermore, for the resistance and reactance values, I will select a certain cable manufacturer for XLPE/PVC cables since I don't see any table for this in the NEC. The resistance/reactance in the appendices only applies to building wires.
Any NEC expert suggestions?
