I am in need of a Hi-Lo or Plastite type screw for a project.
It needs to have a countersunk head with a 90 degree angle in stainless steel probably 18-8 or 316.

I've done my Google searching with little luck. I've contacted some companies with no avail either.

Does anyone have any sources or ideas on where to find one of these?

Thanks!

Countersunk fastenings are a no-no for plastics due to the radial stresses produced. These cause creep and joint relaxation (or they crack the boss).

That is why you are having difficulty sourcing them.

A standard self-tapping screw (as used in MDF), would be ok but you will need to trial the core sizing to get the best pull out/stripping combo.

Ah, I am fastening a metal part that has the countersink in it. It is fastening into the plastic.

I have found "Delta PT" screws which are metric plastic fasteners. I am having trouble finding a company that keeps them in stock.

Well, here is a start - although UK based I'm afraid!! - at least they are made!!

(Try the "Challenge Us" for the SS!)
