I have been searching for a reference to the term "Military Standard Hot Day". The term was used in calculations for takeoff and landing distances of a given runway.
I have searched ISO and ICAO standards to no avail for a reference. The only reference thus far has been in regards to the Apache Helicopter without a proper definition.
Has anyone else used this term and can you direct me to the reference source for a definitive resolution.

I thought a "standard day" (29.92 inches of Hg at 59 F) was the datum. and performance extrapolated from that?

A google search on "military standard hot day" not only returns your question, but also the answer you are looking for.

MIL-STD 210C (CNX 1997) was superceded by MIL-HDBK-310.

ADS-40A implies that 35 ºC might be a "standard hot day," with 21 ºC being the "standard day."

JSSG-2001 stipulates MIL-HDBK-310 1% extreme as "flight operation high temperature," which would be 49 ºC

I don't have all the ADS's, so there may be more there.
