Anybody got a drawing or a model of a generic bottle jack ?

A 2D drawing might actually be more useful. It can even be a raster image of the drawing. A model might be useful, but an ACAD SAT model doesn't come into RHINO with OSNAP selectable points, and I'm doing something for a client using RHINO even tho I did his original layouts and initial concept drawings and models in ACAD 2D/3D. So RHINO it is !

Can anybody help out ?

Thanks !

I did that. That's why I came here. You may be aware that most mfg's either show "request a quote" or info-less catalog pages. Again, that's why I came here.

This site is not your personal research service. In the time you have wasted coming back to this site, you could've drawn your drawing yourself. Autodesk Seek, had you bothered to Google it, is a free repository for engineering content, a lot of it 3D/BIM. The fact that this drawing is for a client I find highly offensive. You are billing the client for work you expect others to do for you.

Right. And actually entering "bottle jack" or "hydraulic jack" in the "seek" gets zilch. Which is what the OP implied by his 3rd reply.

No, I am using this as one component of a huge installation, and while asking for what I did here is common practice, I certainly didn't intend to offend you. In the meantime, I've drawn the component, but because of the required fit, and because necessary dimensions for the required component are not available in the catalogs findable online (via GOOGLE), I'd hoped to get even a simple drawing of a component so I could closely estimate the missing details until I was able to order the unit at my own cost, and take the dimensions I need from that.

If you'll review your posts from the eye of someone not familiar with your initial suggestion, you might see that your frustration is misplaced. Not being familiar with AUTODESK SEEK, I took your next post to mean google the topic of the post, which I'd clearly done, and seemed to be missed by your response.

Finally, to reassure you, my client is an independent inventor with a great idea (I've developed quite a few, and this one looks like a real winner) but no money. I've agreed to do the development as my investment in the concept, and will receive no compensation until (and unless) he gets funding, which could be a year or more.

I'm sorry that your impatience and lack of familiarity with the backstory led to some unneeded frustration, but if I can find a drawing of the component I need, that will be a big help. I'll check out the AUTODESK SEEK you suggested, and will post my thanks for your input back here, if successful.

Sorry for any misunderstanding-

Have you tried ?
They have a good selection with dimensions. They also have CAD models of the products that they carry, but I don't think they do of bottle jacks.

Thanks for the backstory, cfee. I hope it works out for you and your client. Maybe you can even put your bottle jack drawing up on Autodesk Seek for the next guy.

Already tried McMaster Carr. Nothing for bottle jacks except their catalog page. They must consider this such a generic item that there's no need for a drawing or a model. But as you suggested, I check there first because they do have so many useful drawings and models of their products. Oh well.
Thanks for your input-

I didn't realize how mwany dimensions you required. They do show 5 envelope dimensions on the first catalog page that came up for bottle jacks when I checked it out.

Yes, I just have to fit it into a very tight spot, and will make necessary adjustments to do so. Interestingly, that's the very page I used to get what I have so far. Thanks for your post !

Thank you too ! That's going to do it.
Yes I've read the policies.

Thanks for all the help, guys !
