need a source for 1025 round bar, 5/8 dia

This is difficult to find. Will need to meet Honda spec.

Hmmm. you might want to try McMaster carr for small quantites. Youd be surprised to see what you can buy there.

Note: steel is getting hard to find.

Getting small quantities of this grade from distributors like McMaster or Jorgensen will be difficult, if not impossible. Do you need automotive production quantities of cold-drawn 1025-type steel bars? If so, then I highly recommend working with Quality Engineered Steels (owns St. Louis Cold Drawn, West Virginia Cold Drawn, ATP in MX, etc.). They are great to work with, and have extensive contacts with steel mills, so getting something to meet a Honda spec (similar to SAE 1025) would be possible.
