I'm looking for a close match for what type of steel such as AISI rating, would be used for this nissan z32 lower control arm as pictured. All I know is the thickness is about 3mm.
Also any links to lower control arm design would be nice.

It could be a high-strength low-alloy steel (HSLA) or maybe a dual phase steel. Probably with a tensile strength of around 500 MPa. You can find SAE standards that cover these steels.
