I'm looking for breaker interrupting and momentary ratings for an old Westinghouse GO5 circuit breaker - 4000A @ 13.8 kV.

If anyone has any info, please let me know.

TIA.

dear dpc,

I've been looking for that breaker but I'm unable to
find it. Are you sure its Westinghouse? Is it an oil or air breaker? Westinghouse expert here doe not recognize BO5...

regards

...G05 is typically the last few digits of a Westinghouse part number. There should be a much longer number too.

Well, in the Book "Practical guide to short-circuit Calculations" they show the ratings for a Westinghouse GO4 breaker, so I suppose there will be a GO5 breaker if dpc mentioned it.
Only thing I can think of (if you do not find a satisfactory answer in this forum) is to find someone who worked either at Westinghouse or a place who use/used similar breakers, and then to check through their archives.

It's just really old - 60 years or so. It's definitely Westinghouse.

Thanks for checking.

I won't argue - most of my knowledge of Westinghouse terminology is much more recent. The ...G01 or G05 etc usually denotes a variant of a basic design. Sorry for trying to cause confusion!
