Need current equivalent or material properties of A-537A steel

I'm working on a vessel built in 1970, the drawings indicate material "A537A Normalized, Fine Grain, Fully Killed". I need to replace a portion of it with material of equivalent strength. All I can find today is A537 Grade 1 or 2. Back calculating to find the required strength is inconclusive because I don't know what corrosion allowance was used, among other factors. Does any one out there have a reference that might get me the yield and tensile of this material? Thanks in advance...

Having been in a similar situation in dealing with other older pressure vessels, what I would suggest is to have portable hardness testing performed on the vessel. You can approximate a tensile strength and work back to determine the appropriate Grade for replacement.

Your only other option is to remove a sample form the vessel, weld repair and have the sample tested for chemistry and hardness in the lab.
