Hi,
On a project that I am working on, the client is requesting to be able to test the generator when it is paralleled with the utility (testing up to 80-100% of the output power).
Do I really need to have a Load Control Module to be able to test the generator up to 80-100% of the output power?

Thanks

If you are able to use a droop speed setting you set the speed slightly overspeed and let the droop take care of it.
With 3% droop, a no load setting of 61.8Hz will give 100% loading at 60 Hz.
Oce you are synchronized, raise your speed setting and the speed won't change but the unit will pick up the load.

Be sure to check with the local utility to see what they require for a distributed generation interconnection. Any closed transition might require a full interconnection package including an impact study, transfer trip to the utility substation breaker and a specific choice of transformer configuration.
