I'm entering college this fall to study civil engineering. This will be my second bachelor degree, the first being in architectural studies.
Now that I'm changing majors in an effort to find more professional fulfillment in a different field, I want to make sure I do things better the second time around. This of course includes making many contacts and entering into internships. I'm having trouble finding Civil Engineering Associations in Chicago, IL that are active that I can join. I'm aware of the ASCE and some structural groups, but these are all formal. Are there any groups or associations that don't require transcripts or lots of money and meet monthly? I'm also a member a SWE but I can't figure out if/where they meet for this group.
ANY HELP OR INFORMATION IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
