Hello All,

I'm trying to convert a sheet metal part hand drawing into 3D CAD model in NX(CAD tool is not a constrain). Can anyone please help me on how to produce the shape as in the attached image?
I have tried few features like Louver, Drawn cutout but it didn't worked.

Thank you for your time and support.

Thanks & Regards,
Sam

I see sharp bends in the picture.
what thickness is.

can you dimension one cut details.

I suggest using solid punch.
Once you have created the tool body, you can select faces to remove. I'll take a look next week, what version of NX are you using?

I took a look at this in more detail.

What is the manufacturing process used to make the part? It looks more like a machining than a sheet metal formed part. The sheet metal application is designed for straight brake parts and some more advanced press formed but not link this, I'd be more inclined to create using standard modeling tehcniques, from the image, the ends of the 'upstands' taper to a sharp edge. see attached image

Thank you for your time Dave...

I'm using NX 10.
Yes, I agree with you but I'm still in process of knowing how they are manufacturing this part.
If possible, can you please provide me that part file which you have created?

Once again, Thank you very much for your time.

Thanks & Regards,
Sam
