I need help from someone here to export one RISAFloor file to CIS/2 ouput format.

I have STADD license. One of my friend needs me to review his model in RISA. I dont have the RISA software. On research I found out that RISA website have a free utility called CIS/2 that will export any RISAFloor or RISA 3D file to CIS/2 format which I can then use in STADD.

Let me know if someone can help. I really appreciate it. You can notify me and I will send you the file. One more request. I need to file as soon as possible. I will appreciate if some member can do it today.

I am using eng-tips site after a long time. I am not sure how to contact a member. Send me reply and I will send you my RISAFloor file with extension rsl.

Here is the link to download free utility from RISA website

Here is the discription of the RISA CIS/2 Translator from RISA website

Import and export your steel analysis and design files from both RISA-3D and RISAFloor. Extensive testing with SmartPlant® 3D, Tekla Structures® and SDS/2 was performed to ensure compatibility and accuracy.

Thanks

When I was at RISA I don't recall us ever testing the CIS/2 link with any other analysis programs. Only the CAD / BIM / Detailing programs..... Tekla, SDS/2, and such.

The CIS/2 format is not as straight forward as folks promised when it was being pushed as the next great thing in integration between analysis, detailing and CAD. If I remember correctly, there are a number of different choices companies could make about how to export or import items. If there are issues with RISA to CIS/2 to STAAD then I imagine it's related to the two companies making different choices with the model.

Also, my belief is that loading information would not generally be part of the CIS/2 model. Nor would code check parameters (such as unbraced lengths and such).

I could be wrong though as it's been a few years since I looked at CIS/2 in detail.
