Hi,
Someone post this question earlier but no one response. I have the same question:
I'm currently trying to strengthening a masonry wall using FRCM system. In ACI 549.4R-13 there is a design example of a shear wall, however I'm having trouble finding the neutral axis of the shear wall for the inplane bending and could really use some help.
On page 62 it says that the neutral axis depth is computed by establishing the equilibrium of the forces acting on the cross-section of the wall. By trials and errors, the following value of neutral axis depth is computed:
Cip = 45in
Could someone explain to me how to obtain Cip?
From ACI Thanks
