Hello, Hello does anyone know if a 2" diam w/.049 wall thickness Stainless steel tube can be formed with some rings around it. I mean an actual form of a ring around the tube that would increase its dia to 2.090" Im having trouble to find someone to manufacture it for me its not too complicated but it seems that it can't be done please advise..

I guess it depends how far from the end of the tube these rings would be. You could create a make shift "swage" tool that had two parts, and interior expander and an exterior die. "Happy the Hare at morning for she is ignorant to the Hunter's waking thoughts."

More specs please:
1. What type of Stainless?
2. Length of the part?
3. How many *rings* per part?
4. Width of the rings and spacing between them?
5. Radius between the outer surfaces of the ring and tube?
6. How many parts? Steven C. Potter

Talk to your local (automotive) exhaust fabricator. He's probably got appropriate tools already made, if not he'll know what to do. Cheers

Are you talking about integrally finned tubing like is used in some air cooled and HVAC heat exchangers? Or are you talking about rolling just a few rings on a mostly bare tube?

specs.

its a 304 sst .049 thick walls
4.5" long
2 rings per part
.187 width 1.930 apart
one going to inside and one to outside.
