Please, for example purposes, imagine a twin screw type compressor. We are making larger Al shafts and have to insert steel center shafts for the bearings on them. There are 2 of these running together and MUST be clocked together within a nats ass... Does anyone have any good ideas on how to achieve this?
The steel center shafts will be press fit into the larger Al shafts so alignment at that point would be difficult. our thought was to mfg the center shafts smooth, press fit, then cut the key way or whatever into the shafts once assembled. The shafts will spin in tandem with straight cut gears so basically, if the shafts get cut wrong, it will scrap the part.
