Need info on Passivation S/S Pipe/Tube

Hello,
I am looking for some general information about the passivation process for stainless steel and other nickel alloy pipe/tube. Any info about the process requirements, typical applications, process equipment, ASTM or other specs, how it fits in with the pickling process, etc would be very helpful. Any links or expert info would also be much appreciated.
