Hello,

A couple of days ago, I posted a thread asking for feedback regarding unit conversion software. However, forum administrators decided to remove my thread for some reason. I don't know, maybe I am not supposed to ask for feedback here. I did not write down the link to a conversion software that was mentioned in my thread before it was deleted. Could somebody write the link again, please?

Msosno02,

One of the links that was given before was to the freeware program Uconeer, which I wrote. I tried to respond to you with some lessons I learnt while writing this, but the thread disappeared before I could post it.

If you would like to discuss it with me please contact me offline via where you can also download the program.

Try Google. (Did you know it has a built-in calculator and units conversion capability?)

Just for fun, try a Google search for:

"light years in cubits"

or:

"0b10110 in roman numerals" (always a handy conversion for any programmers who might be writing a C++ text book in Latin - 0b being Google's prefix to indicate binary notation)

or:

"c in inches per fortnight" (c being the speed of light)

or even:

"1 light year * 1 square angstrom in gallons"

(All Google search phrases without the quotes, of course!)

Wow, that's pretty cool.

Too bad it choked on the first thing I threw at it: 1 inch of water in bars -- it doesn't seem to understand pressures in terms of inches of water nor mercury (unless I just don't speak googlese well enough...)

I have tried your software and I think that it is excellent. I am writing you an email to the contact address on your website.

Beggar,

Hmmm... Google understood:

"1 mm mercury in bar"

but not:

"1 mm water in bar"

or:

"1 inch mercury in bar"

It looks like Google's vocabulary of units is somewhat limited. Oh well - it's still pretty neat!
